David Reeves (b. 1973) is a composer and arranger. He has written extensively for percussion and has also composed for orchestra, concert band, chamber ensembles, choir and solo instruments. His works infuse elements of jazz, funk, minimalism and electronics resulting in music that is stimulating and engaging to both performer and listener. David has also collaborated with contemporary choreographers as a composer and musician.
His works for percussion are frequently performed throughout the U.S. and have also been performed in the U.K., Australia, Spain, Italy, Japan, Singapore, Thailand and Russia. Many of his percussion compositions are published through Tapspace. He has also self-published several works available on this website.
Recent awards include: Aries Composer Festival (Send & Receive), Solo & Chamber Timpani Showcase (Spiritual in five verses) Great Plains International Marimba Festival and the International Percussion Institute (Slowly, Agitated).
With nearly thirty years of experience, David has composed and arranged hundreds of charts for various DCI, BOA, WGI and University marching ensembles.
David resides in Seattle, Washington with his wife and their three sons.
